The Refugees at 101.9 have made it through their first two days.   The Grand Poopah is mildly impressed so far.   But of course this is the work of Jeff Alien who is a master at conservative talk.  He still believes in the power of three.   “Younger Smarter Better” is now “News Analysis Opinion”.   Yes, the power of three.

The imaging is very good.  The entire airstaff sounds fresh and energized.   But what would you expect when you’re working for a locally owned (leased from EMF?) station where they’re actually hiring people and not firing?  Well, at least not yet.

It’s good to hear Mike Ferguson on the air in morning drive.  Long days for him as he does afternoons at The Eagle in Columbia.   And Tim Jones does it the other way around.   Tim is on 93.3 (not Tracy’s Station) in the morning and then does afternoons at 101.9.   You used to be able to make a living in radio working at just one station.   But that ended sometime last century.

Not only is the Refugee staff all ex 97.1 staffers (with the exception of NJ Vic) but the advertisers are also all refugees from 971.  Well, maybe they’re still on 97.1 and now on 101.9 as well.   The Grand Poopah is all for spreading those ad dollars on multiple stations.   Hey, KRAP could use a few extra ad dollars!   Can I make a suggestion?   Can you please run Doug Voss every hour on Saturday and Sunday on 101.9?  They hardly ever play Doug’s show on 97.1 on the weekends.

So far so good.   But it’s all dudes!   You couldn’t find any conservative dudettes to pull a shift or two?  Guess not.
