The Fed Bankruptcy Court hearing was June 9th 2025.  And after a marathon court session the sale of the KDHX license and transmitter site was granted to Gateway Creative Broadcasting, AKA Joy 99 and Boost. Read the STLPR article HERE.

The Grand Poopah is saddened.  This is loss of a truly unique radio station that’s been around for decades.  Born out of KDNA (read the history HERE) and originally put on the air as the Clayton High School radio station, KDHX has a unique history in the STL.

Nothing against the good folks on Manchester, but do we really need another religious station?  Yeah, I know that KDHX is supposed to live on as an HD channel on 88.1.  But as any broadcaster will tell you the HD channels are for the most part a vast wasteland.  Not everyone has an HD capable radio.  Even some of the newer cars don’t have HD. It’s not as universal as a good old FM radio (what’s next, no AM in cars??)  I have a friend with a 2023 Chevy pick up that DOES NOT have HD capability.  Only two model years old and no HD.  Sad.

But I do believe this is a great day for the luxury car dealers and the real estate agents in the STL as the Double Helix board members will be getting $6.75 million dollars.

NOTE TO SELF:  Switch my radio stations over to not for profit status and start running religious programming and stop paying FCC fees, RE taxes, personal property taxes and every other fee not applicable to religious organizations.  Maybe then I can get my own jet!   That Falcon 8X sure looks nice.

Brothers and Sisters, put your hands on the radio!
